YouTube is working on a new AI-powered radio feature to take the music experience to the next level. This feature allows users to discover the genre of music they want with just a few words. The innovation, which claims to change everyone’s music listening habits, is unfortunately exclusive to Premium subscribers.
Artificial intelligence feature for YouTube music is not available in our country
This new feature for YouTube Music starts with a chat interface where users are asked “What do you need?” and can request music as they wish. You can express your music request in writing, or you can send your requests with voice commands.
When you start testing the feature, you are presented with an animated card called ‘Experiment’ on the screen, from where you can directly request music. The music genres suggested to users vary quite a bit. For example, you are introduced to new tracks with suggestions like ‘Surprise me!’ or ‘HipHop with an 80s twist.’
It only takes a few seconds to create the radio, and then YouTube Music translates the user’s command into a playlist with a shorter title and description. The playlist automatically starts with the first track.
This new feature is currently only available to YouTube Premium subscribers. It is also unclear when it will be available to users outside the United States. The new AI-powered music discovery feature is likely to be especially interesting for users who are unsure of what to listen to and want to discover new music.
